SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The
vice president and chief operating officer of the California Association of Health
Facilities (CAHF), Rita Chen Fujisawa, has been named to the Board of
Directors of the American
Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Chen Fujisawa was one of four people selected to join ASAE’s 20-member
board of directors, as well as the board of directors of the ASAE
Foundation. She is the only
representative from California.
Ms. Chen Fujisawa has served in her present role at CAHF since 2011. She
is responsible for directing day-to-day administrative activity, operations and
management of the association, which represents skilled nursing facilities and
community-based homes for the developmentally disabled. Prior to that, she was
associate executive director of the California Optometric Association. Her 20 plus years of nonprofit experience
includes her work at On Lok
Senior Health Services, a community-based long-term care program serving
frail elders in San Francisco, CA.
“This is a well-deserved recognition of Rita’s professionalism,
expertise and service to our association and its members,” said Craig Cornett,
CAHF CEO/President. “It’s also great to
have California represented on the leadership team of ASAE.”
ASAE is a national membership organization that represents more than
44,000 association executives and industry partners in 7,400
organizations. It is the premier source
of learning, knowledge and future-oriented research for the association and
nonprofit profession. It provides resources, education, ideas and advocacy to
enhance the power of the association and nonprofit community.
During her tenure as a member of ASAE, Ms. Chen Fujisawa was one of
12 scholars selected nationally to join a two-year Diversity Executive
Leadership Program. She currently serves as the chair of the Innovation Grant
Program of the ASAE Foundation and as a member of the ASAE Executive Management
Section Council.
A resident of Davis, Calif., Ms. Chen Fujisawa will be officially
