Description of Course: COVID-19 has emerged as a devastating global health crisis. Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is the predominant cardiovascular dysfunction in severe COVID-19 patients, with frequency ranging from 25%, when symptomatic disease is considered, to 69%, when routine screening was conducted. Experts and medical societies around the world have issued guidance on the management of coagulopathy in COVID-19 patients. The purpose of this course is to educate the audience about the risk factors for developing venous thromboembolism in COVID-19 patients and the recommendations from different guidelines on preventing and treating VTE in COVID-19 patients.
