Protect and preserve access to long-term care.

California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF) is a trade association representing skilled-nursing facilities and intermediate-care facilities for people with intellectual disabilities. Its members operate 900 skilled nursing facilities and 420 intermediate care facilities.

Now more than ever, nursing homes need to join forces and advocate for their residents. Successful legislative advocacy depends upon an integrated approach, consisting of lobbying, grassroots activity and political action through the CAHF Political Action Fund (PAF) and the statewide Political Action Committee (PAC).

A strong CAHF PAC helps build and solidify strong working relationships with lawmakers and provide information about the fundamental role of the delivery of quality long-term care.

Member commitment to political advocacy strengthens our voice in Sacramento, and educates officials and elected leaders about the important and necessary role of skilled nursing as part of the long-term care continuum.

Our efforts include political action combined with lobbying and grassroots efforts to ensure our mission is understood by lawmakers and candidates who are concerned about access to long-term care services and supports.
