Legislative Visits

The CAHF Legislative Conference will be held 11-13, 2012 at the Hyatt Hotel in Sacramento.  With this conference coming soon, it is crucial to set up legislative visits now. 

The following information will be important to keep in mind when setting an appointment with your legislator:

•    Call or fax your legislator’s Sacramento office and ask for the scheduling assistant to announce your visit to Sacramento and the purpose.  Please be sure to mention your name, Association affiliation and definition of constituency (i.e., I live in/work in your district), and visitation dates (Monday, March 12 or Tuesday, March 13).

•    Please request a meeting with your legislator to discuss the current legislative issues and CAHF’s legislative priorities, i.e.,  reimbursement, potential cash flow issues, and changes to the SNF reimbursement system.

•    Once you have made the appointment, please fax the form back to CAHF at (916) 441-6441 to the attention of: Christina Pritchett.

•    Remember various options can be used rather than a one-on-one visit.  You may want to set up a small round table discussion with 2-4 chapter members and your legislator and/or legislative staff.  You can recruit people at your chapter meetings before you make your appointments.

•    Please let me know when you will be meeting with legislators and who will be attending the meeting by completing the notification form below and returning it to CAHF's Legislative Coordinator, Christina Pritchett.  Please remember the success of our March Legislative Conference depends on YOU!

•    Organize your chapter and please let me know who will be coming to Sacramento and when your scheduled appointments are.
